LDC Funeral Services is a North London based, independent, family-run business that specialises in eco-friendly cremations and burials. We offer an affordable and sensitive alternative to a traditional funeral with the focus on you, your wishes and your needs.
All of our services are bespoke, personalised and focused. We have a one funeral a day policy that ensures you of our undivided attention throughout your day.
Our business is based in Tufnell Park , North London and to embrace the wonderful communities of Hampstead, Camden and Islington, we offer discounted costs to residents of the boroughs.
We are the contracted Funeral Directors for the Whittington Hospital Trust. We have also created a foundation to support women who miscarry their baby up to 24 weeks by providing a wholly funded, free service, should they require a burial or a cremation for their lost baby. LDC Funeral Services guarantees an efficient, discrete service. We are pleased to offer thoughtful, professional advice on how to proceed in the event of a bereavement.

Other low cost funeral companies who offer Direct Cremations, while providing an excellent service, often give no option as to where and when the cremation will be carried out and will take the deceased to a location far outside London to benefit from cheaper cremation costs. LDC Funeral Services will always tell you where and when the cremation is to take place and it will always be in one specific London location. Covering areas such as Richmond upon Thames and Hornsey, we are always ready and willing to respect your wishes.

Our Mission
At LDC Funeral Services, it is important to us that we make an effort to reduce the destruction and consumption of the world’s natural resources. It is clear they are being used faster than the planet can replace them. Our mission is to make a small but significant contribution by using sustainable material for our cremations and burials.
Wicker, bamboo and cardboard are fast becoming the most widely used coffins and the sustainability of these materials is easily maintained. It takes over 100 years to grow a mature oak tree and minutes to cut it down to make a dozen coffins. We work with trusted suppliers eCoffins , Bradnams and JC Atkinson who offer a comprehensive range of products using sustainable materials for you to choose from.
We do not promote embalming as the process is both overly intrusive and the products used are heavy pollutants. We will certainly ask you to consider the eco-alternatives, but will never deny our clients’ wishes in this respect. Our funeral directors in Hampstead and across London are always ready and waiting to offer help and advice.
We take our inspiration from Green Endings, an eco-funeral company based in Tufnell Park, run most recently by the inimitable Jeremy Smith. Jeremy sadly and unexpectedly passed away in March 2023 and his much loved company, Green Endings, went with him. We promised him that we would continue to offer the unique, family-led service that his company always did, in the premises that he worked so hard to sustain. We are pleased to welcome all past and present supporters of Jeremy’s work at Oakford Yard. Stop by, come in and have a coffee – we’d be delighted to see you.

Crematoria in North London
We use the services of Islington Crematorium N2 9AG for most of our cremations, (Please note this is NOT the Crematorium on East End Road N2 0RZ, which is called St Marylebone Crematorium). However, please let us know if you wish to use any other in London (this may incur additional costs). We have listed some other London crematoria below, but the list is not exhaustive. Most have gardens of remembrance where ashes can be scattered.
